Entreamigos

Entreamigos began with a very simple idea: to teach what you know and ask others to do the same.

Entreamigos is a cultural and community bridge providing educational opportunities for the children and families of San Pancho, Mexico – empowering their intellectual potential, creativity and self awareness. This non-profit organization has a vision of community where history and culture are valued, that embraces the environment and empowers its children, where diversity means opportunity and education is the flagpole of the future. They have served hundreds of children through a diverse offering of after-school programs.

In early 2009, Entreamigos was given the rights to occupy and remodel one of the abandonded buildings along the main street. The giant building was originally a milk processing plant that had been sitting empty since the 1970s. Now called Centro Communitario Educativo (Community Education Centre), the 16,000 sq. ft. facility was renovated by local sustainable designers and architects. It includes an eco design center, community gardens, library, gift shop, community recycling center, playground, gymnastics area, craft rooms, outdoor performance space & an organic cafe’.

Creativity Chrysalis designed a Youth Empowerment Program with the goal of empowering students to support themselves in achieving higher education through acquiring business skills & creating viable businesses.
